For the first time, Syracuse undergraduate students will have the opportunity to spend an expenses-paid Spring Break (March 10 - March 17) in Washington, D.C. By visiting influential organizations and meeting established SU alumni in the area, students will experience the "ins-and-outs" of llife in Washington and see what working in the nation's capital is really like.
The goal of the DC Immersion Experience is to provide a program for select Syracuse University sophomores interested in gaining an understanding and foundation of the opportunities, culture and inner workings of Washington, D.C. to include citizenship, public service, nonprofit management, and conducting business in our nation's capital.
Applications are available through OrangeLink until January 31, 2012. In addition to the application, students will need to submit a resume and an essay explaining why they want to have this experience and what they hope to take away from it. Essays should be a 4-page maximum, double-spaced, 12 pt font, 1-inch margins.
All completed applications with resume and essay will be reviewed by a selection committee. Applicants will be notified by February 10, 2012 if you have been selected to attend this program.
